Золотое кольцо России
«Золотым кольцом» маршрут прозвал искусствовед Юрий Бычков в 1967 году — так в газете «Советская культура» он озаглавил серию заметок о своем путешествии по древним городам.
В состав Золотого кольца традиционно входят девять городов, которые располагаются на карте России «кольцом» к северо-востоку от Москвы, — это Сергиев Посад, Переславль-Залесский, Ростов Великий, Ярославль, Кострома, Иваново, Суздаль, Владимир и Углич.
